Jerry V. Davis
Board Member
Mr. Davis is a community advocate, educator, and entrepreneur. He founded the non-profit Making It Better (MIB) in 2007 to provide low-income children in Houston with academic support, mentoring, and leadership and life skills. As a City Council member, Davis brought together a group of local leaders to develop a collective network for community development known as WAIIT (We Are In It Together). He currently serves his third term as District B Houston City Council Member and has been elected by his peers since 2014 to serve as Vice Mayor Pro-Tem.
Davis holds two Master's degrees in Education Administration and Counseling from Prairie View A&M University and received his state teaching certification from Houston’s University of St. Thomas.
He currently serves on the board of UP Community Impact Fund Corp.
