BioCity is a 300,000 sq. ft. shared-use, scale-up factory in Houston, Texas, being developed to enable synthetic biology companies to bring their products to market rapidly.

Synthetic Biology” is the use of living cells to make products (like wine or cheese, but with today’s powerful genetics tools); the totality of these creates the “Bioeconomy.”

But the “biomanufacturing” infrastructure, tools, workforce, etc., that are required to bring these to market are lacking, especially in the US. BioCity seeks to fill this need.
